The original women’s perfume, Shalimar by Guerlain was released in 1921 and this name was so catchy and unforgettable that a competitor stole the name and decided that it was there turn to make a profit from this very famous perfume. Not looking into the legalities of what ensued after the name was stolen; Guerlain changed the name of his perfume for awhile to No.90, which meant that these perfume became something of a collector’s item.
However, in 1925 this was all about to change and this year is seen as the year that Shalimar was officially launched. Since then, this fragrance has held its place firmly and its vanilla fragrance has become an iconic symbol amongst women all over the world. The perfume, Shalimar is said to have been inspired by homonymous gardens that can be found in Lahore. This garden was said to have been created in part by Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan, who was said to be love sick in the year 1619. This garden is where the emperor serenaded his wife; therefore it has sentimental value and a very romantic story behind it, which is also the same story with Shalimar by Guerlain.
Shalimar by Guerlain is a perfume for women that first came out with the bergamot fragrance and then this scent was followed up with a much sweeter more refined scent of hesperidia accents. These fragrances have a wonderful flowery scent to them and there is also Shalimar women’s perfume that has a musky, sexy undertone to them. This musky undertone is created with a combination of vetiver, patchouli, and along with these two fragrances there is a touch of Mediterranean thyme. There is also a citrusy scent that mixes in a balsamic undercurrent, which will stay on your skin and in your clothes for hours.
If you have been looking for that one of a kind fragrance that is going to hold people captive when you pass by, it is recommended that you try Shalimar by Guerlain because this is described as the ideal women’s perfume.
